Church Chronicles: "Don't Be Discouraged"

Whew. It has been forever since I went to church and yes I am ashamed, considering I was the girl who was in church as well as Sunday School each morning. Can you believe I was also a praise dancer and Children's Sunday School Teacher?! Thats another story, but I had the pleasure of going with a friend. We attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in DC off Rhode Island Ave NW. 

The message for Sunday was "Don't Be Discouraged". I think the timing on this particular message couldn't have been any better, especially with all the changes going on in my life right now. 3 points of the sermon I would like to highlight and share with you guys are :

1 Samuel 17: 32-37

1. Don't let others define you

2. Have and share your testimony

3. Learn how to fight the right battles

Overall church was ok, but I think I will give another church a try.

After church, I had the honors of having Brunch. Although I didn't enjoy Bottomless Mimosas (I know, bummer!) I did get the opportunity to try some new food. We went to Southern Hospitality.
