Makeup is not my best subject, but has always been a strong curiosity of mine. I started trying to be a MAC girl then expanding to the various brands offered by Sephora, but it just couldn't satisfy my needs or wants. I rarely wear makeup and when I do I enjoy a very natural look with light coverage. I found that MAC and other brand foundation was just to thick for me, although I was satisfied with the lipstick. Finally I just stopped wearing makeup all together.
Now the end to this forever occurring search for the perfect makeup regime didn't completely stop. I decided to give it another try, but this time in the Target cosmetic section. I immediately feel in love with the Covergirl products. I personally enjoy the Queen Collection Natural Hue Liquid Foundation. The color is very true to my skin where as with MAC I was finding a very brick red undertone. I am also in love with the Queen Matte Powder. Usually I will use solely a primer and this foundation with some concealer and be extremely happy. (Guess you could consider this a routine makeup look for me)
Now speaking of concealer, I also used the Covergirl concealer, but this time I tried the NYX concealer and really was satisfied. As compared to Covergirl I wouldn't use either over the other but I will continue to use my NYX concealer and most likely revert back to Covergirl or try something new.
Now with Spring & Summer ahead of me I have been dying to find some Spring color popping lipstick. As previously stated I typically wear MAC lipstick whenever I do wear lipstick but surprisingly MAC didn't have colors that I felt comfortable in that were Spring appropriate. I took a trip to the local Beauty Supply Store and feel in love (once again) with the NK lipstick
With NK lipstick and lipgloss its prices range from $1-$1.50! Yes a buck! I love the lipstick not only because the price is so amazing, but the lipstick actually moistures your lips, which is an important feature for any lip product. I will say this lipstick requires repetitive applications but for $1 what do you expect? I think you should try it and if you don't like it, you only wasted a buck. Coincidently, I got a bunch of random colors I wanted to try and loved them all.
Hopefully you guys give these very simple but chic and affordable satisfying products a try. I love them all and extremely happy to restart my makeup collection with the basics.
