So the idea of one color as the basic focus of an outfit is usually always a "heck yeah I'm all in" idea. But when you start talking about mixing different textures and patterns I always get a little scared. I never want any look I attempt to come off as I am just trying way to hard. Luckily for this outfit it all came so easy and without any hesitation.
I combined the concepts of both mention above and if I must say so myself, I think I pulled if off. I did give myself the option to wear black leather pants but I preferred the burgundy ones hands down over the black.
The outfit all started when I bought this amazing burgundy faux fur vest from Marshall's. I knew that whatever blouse I wore with this first had to be very simple because I wanted all the attention to be focused on the vest.
Shopping through Forever21 for some new staple pieces is where I found this simple chic cream blouse, along with my favorite black leather pants that I outgrew from last season. Leather pants are like a staple item for me because I always can do whatever I want with them and they make my butt look great. Browsing for black pants is where I came across these burgundy ones that I knew right away had to come home to me.
So far as textures we have thin chiffon, faux fur, and leather. Why stop there?! I decided to be extra bold and add these funky snake python platform boots my mother bought for me as a gift last Christmas. When she first introduced these boots to my collection of presents I was super hesitant but got creative right away.
The final addition to my outfit was a statement necklace by Coquettish and my favorite MAC lipstick Cyber. The option for a clutch is always presented. I probably wouldn't introduce a new texture like patent leather if I did add a clutch because then it would just be too much for me. The final look included thin chiffon, faux fur, leather, and snakeskin. I really enjoyed this outfit and it gave me a boost of confidence to carry on my day even though things have been a little stressful lately. Next time I wear these leather pants or even the fur I want to dress them down.
What prints or textures have you mixed together lately? How do you dress your leather pants or favorite printed boots?
